Chef Hemant Mathur

Menu Conception

Chef Hemant Mathur has earned numerous accolades and esteemed recognition during his 30 year career. He was the first Indian chef in the U.S. to be awarded a Michelin star. Previously, Mathur served as the executive chef of one-Michelin starred Tulsi in Manhattan from its opening through 2014, and was the opening executive chef at one-Michelin starred Dévi in New York, where he helmed the kitchen for six years. Hemant Mathur is the COO/Managing Executive Chef of six distinctive regional Indian restaurants located in New York City – Chola, Chote Nawab, Dhaba, Haldi, Kokum and Malai Marke.

Menu Execution

The menu is executed by Ravi Bisht. Chef Bisht ran the Indian restaurant Bhogali, located at the Grand Palladium Resort and Spa in Jamaica. Chef Bisht comes with a refined sense of Indian cuisine from Delhi, where he was an opening team member at the fine dining establishment Jamavar, located in the prestigious Leela Palace, and at Park Plaza’s New Town Cafe. Kurry Qulture is his venture into NYC’s dining scene.
